The Malayali couple who went missing following the tragic Mumbai boat accident, which claimed 13 lives, have been found safe. Their six-year-old son is currently undergoing treatment at the JNPT Hospital in Mumbai. 

Around 101 people were injured in the accident and have been admitted to various hospitals. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon at around 4 pm, when the passenger boat, Neel Kamal, which was traveling from Gateway of India to Elephanta Island, collided with a Navy speedboat. There were around 100 passengers aboard the boat. Thirteen people were confirmed dead, while 101 others were rescued.

Footage from just before the accident surfaced, showing the Navy speedboat zigzagging in the sea and suddenly making a U-turn before crashing violently into the passenger boat.

The swift response and coordinated rescue operations by the Marine Police, Navy, and Coast Guard helped limit the scale of the disaster. The Maharashtra government has announced an immediate financial assistance of ₹5 lakh for the families of the deceased.

President Droupadi Murmu and several others have expressed their condolences over the tragic incident.
