Kannur: Following his resignation from the KPCC (Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee) president post, senior Congress leader K. Sudhakaran shared a note of gratitude on Facebook. In the post, he said that there is still a long way to go and that his responsibility to free the people from Pinarayi Vijayan’s misgovernance remains.

He mentioned that when the Congress reached the opposition benches for the second time, opponents had spread the narrative that the party would collapse. However, his “boys” (supporters) did not allow even a single stone of the movement to be shaken. Sudhakaran expressed his gratitude to everyone and extended his best wishes to the new leadership.

“In 2021, when the Congress was at a low point, broken-hearted Congress workers entrusted the party into my hands following the party’s inability to end the corrupt regime of Pinarayi Vijayan, despite him being the worst Chief Minister in the history of Kerala. With a sense of fulfilment in having energised them, given them strength, and transformed the party into a fighting organisation, I am stepping down from my position,” Sudhakaran said in his post.

“When the Congress found itself in opposition for the second time, opponents propagated that the Indian National Congress would disintegrate. But my ‘boys’ did not allow even a stone of the movement to be shaken — I see that as a symbol of the love you have given me. With continued electoral victories, you stood with the party and countered the negative campaigns,” he said.

“From the day I took charge as KPCC president, I extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for the cooperation you gave me in leading the party forward. I also extend all my best wishes to the new leadership,” Sudhakaran said.

“We have not yet achieved our goal. There is still a long way to go. The responsibility to free the people from the destructive misgovernance of Vijayan, who ruined Kerala, still remains. As I promised you, K. Sudhakaran, your colleague, will remain at the forefront to end the corrupt governance that has disrupted every sector of Kerala and to bring about a people’s government through a UDF. Together, we will achieve our goal,” he concluded.
