Thiruvananthapuram: The ongoing dispute between Thiruvananthapuram Mayor Arya Rajendran and KSRTC driver Yadhu has taken a new turn with the memory card from the CCTV system of the bus missing. This card expected to be a crucial evidence, is nowhere to be found. The revelation of the missing memory card was made by the police following an inspection of the bus involved in the incident.
The bus in question was equipped with three surveillance cameras, and concerns were raised when it was found that the cameras were not examined in the aftermath of the altercation between the mayor and driver. Allegations of the driver making an obscene gesture towards the Mayor led to calls for a thorough review of the bus's CCTV footage.
Hesitant to inspect the cameras, the police eventually conducted an examination of the bus on Wednesday morning, during which the DVR of the camera system was recovered. However, the DVR was found without a memory card. Authorities are uncertain whether the memory card was missing from the beginning or if it had been tampered with.

The bus was fitted with cameras recently as per the directives of Transport Minister K B Ganesh Kumar. These cameras, positioned at the front, back, and inside the bus, are designed to retain footage for up to a week. Accessing this footage could have shed light on the events that transpired inside the bus and within the driver's cabin.
