Tripunithura, Kerala: Kerala Police have examined CCTV footage from the school as part of the investigation into the tragic suicide of Class 9 student Mihir, who jumped from his flat. Officials stated that they have gathered crucial information related to the case.

According to the police, a day before Mihir’s death, two students assaulted another student at school, causing a nosebleed. Mihir was a witness to the incident. The accused students then gave the injured student medicine from the school, falsely claiming that he had sustained the injury from a fall.

However, the school authorities grew suspicious and called a parents meeting the following day. Mihir’s parent also attended the meeting. Police also mentioned that there are recordings showing a visibly distressed Mihir being comforted by a classmate after the meeting.

The investigation team stated that Mihir made a phone call after arriving at his residence in Tripunithura from school that evening, and it was shortly after that he jumped from the flat complex.

It has also been revealed that Mihir had expressed a desire to transfer from his current school. Investigating officers mentioned that Mihir had registered to join a school in Kodaikanal on January 13, with his parents’ consent.

A special investigation team, led by Hill Palace Inspector A L Yesudas, is currently looking into the case.
