KSRTC Swift bags Rs 61 lakh in just 10 days; 100 more buses to hit road soon

Thiruvananthapuram: The earnings of KSRTC Swift buses have managed to cross Rs 61,71,908 since its flag-off ten days ago. Swift buses, introduced to offer more comfort to travellers for a long-distance journey, have covered a distance of 1,26,818 km. The service, which started on April 11, generated revenue more than what was estimated.

The AC sleeper bus earned a revenue of Rs 28,04,403, normal AC buses touched Rs 15,66,415 for and non-AC buses bagged Rs 18,01,090.

At present, 30 buses are in service with eight AC sleeper buses servicing to Bengaluru. The AC seater buses ply between Pathanamthitta-Bengaluru, Kozhikode-Bengaluru, Thiruvananthapuram-Kozhikode and several services to Chennai. Non-AC buses ply from Thiruvananthapuram to Kozhikode, Kannur, Sultan Bathery and Mananthavady.

The KSRTC-Swift management said that 100 buses will start service immediately once the permit is granted.
