Thiruvananthapuram: After a gap of nearly 25 years, the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is set to resume its bus service from Hosur in Tamil Nadu to Kerala.

In the first phase, services will operate on Fridays and Saturdays up to Kannur, starting from October 24.

Officials said that if the service proves successful, it will be extended to other cities, including Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram.

KSRTC has also decided to allow a stop near the flyover on the outskirts of Hosur city for buses operating from Bengaluru.

The decision follows a representation made by Malayalis in Hosur to MP A.A. Rahim during his visit for the DYFI state conference.

The plan to resume the service was finalised after discussions between KSRTC Managing Director Dr. Pramoj Shankar and Rahim .
