Palakkad: In response to consumer complaints, KSEB will now issue electricity bills in Malayalam. This decision follows a recent public hearing held at the Palakkad District Panchayat Hall, where many consumers reported difficulties understanding their bills, which were previously issued in English.
The Chairman of the Electricity Regulatory Commission, T. K. Jose directed KSEB to ensure that bills are provided in Malayalam, with English bills available only upon request. The commission suggested improvements to prevent bills from going illegible within a week and recommended implementing a system to send bills directly to customers' mobile phones. The commission also advised fixing a specific date for metre readings and noting this date on the bill to avoid discrepancies in electricity usage charges.
