Kozhikode: KK Rema MLA, the wife of slain RMP leader T.P. Chandrasekharan, has criticized the Kerala government's decision to grant parole to Kodi Suni.
Suni was granted 30-day parole by the Jail DGP on Monday. She questioned the rationale behind such a decision, stating that ten days would have sufficed if the purpose was to visit his mother.

Rema urged the government to give a proper explanation on what basis the 30-day parole was granted. Rema alleged that this extended parole cannot have been granted without the Home Department's knowledge. She stated that the DGP alone could not authorise a measure like this, making the decision highly questionable.
Rema expressed concerns that the intervention of the Human Rights Commission in the matter seemed to align with the interests of the ruling party.
The MLA plans to consult legal experts and take further steps to address the issue.
Suni, who is also implicated in other cases during his imprisonment, was granted parole despite the police's probation report being under review.
T.P. Chandrashekharan was hacked to death by a gang on the night of May 4, 2012 at Vallikkad near Onchiyam. The court had convicted a total of 12 persons, including K C Ramachandran, Kirmani Manoj, and T.K. Rajeesh, in this case.
