Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has decided to go ahead with the reorganization of the Congress despite opposition from senior leaders. As part of the appointment of DCC office-bearers in each district by early January, the KPCC has requested the general secretaries from each district to hand over the list of potential candidates.

It is learned that the list will be prepared in consultation with all sections of the leaders and the people's representatives. However, senior leaders Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala are adamant that the need for a reshuffle inside KPCC should be dropped since the organisational elections have been decided.

Meanwhile, the KPCC secretaries have not yet been selected due to opposition from senior leaders. Though senior leaders Oommen Chandy and Chennithala were requested to provide their opinion over the selection of secretaries, it is quite unclear whether they have acknowledged it.
