Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC vice president N Sakthan has been assigned the temporary charge of the Thiruvananthapuram District Congress Committee (DCC) President. The announcement was made via a press release by KPCC president Sunny Joseph MLA.
This interim appointment comes following the resignation of Palode Ravi from the post, in the wake of a controversial phone conversation.
The audio clip, which recently surfaced, features Palode Ravi stating that if the current situation continues, the LDF will once again come to power in the state, and that the BJP could make inroads into as many as 50 constituencies in the next Assembly elections.
The leak of this audio caused considerable dissatisfaction within both the KPCC and the AICC, eventually leading to a demand for his resignation.
