The messages on the flexes call on Satheesan to “stop his PR work”

Kochi: Flex banners criticising Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan have appeared in front of the Ernakulam District Congress Committee (DCC) office.
The messages on the flexes call on Satheesan to “stop his PR work”. They accuse him of attempting to tarnish senior leaders for personal gain and suggest that his ambition to become Chief Minister will not succeed.
Two flexes were found directly outside the DCC office, and it is believed they were put up late last night.
One banner, bearing the name ‘Indian National Congress Family’, reads: “Satheesan’s delusion of becoming the Chief Minister of Kerala by tarnishing senior leaders like Rameshji through PR work will not succeed.” The adjacent banner states: “Stop V.D. Satheesan’s PR work. The High Command will decide the Congress Chief Minister.”

The Ernakulam DCC office is housed in a building equipped with CCTV cameras. Given the nature of the installation, it is unlikely the flexes were put up in a very short time, suggesting that those responsible could be identified if an investigation were pursued.
However, sources indicate that the DCC is unlikely to initiate an inquiry, as the election results are due in five days and the outcome remains uncertain.
