Kerala's rain warning has been revised, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a yellow alert for three districts on June 17 and two districts on June 18 amid forecasts of isolated heavy rainfall across parts of the state.

The alert indicates the possibility of isolated heavy rainfall, defined as precipitation ranging from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm within 24 hours.
The IMD said weather conditions remain favourable for intermittent rain activity across Kerala over the next two days, with isolated locations expected to receive intense showers.
Authorities have advised residents in vulnerable areas to remain alert, particularly in regions prone to waterlogging and localized flooding.
The weather department has also warned of strong winds and rough sea conditions over several adjoining maritime regions, including the Gulf of Mannar, the Kanyakumari coast, the Sri Lankan coast, the southwest and southeast Bay of Bengal, parts of the central-east Bay of Bengal and the northern Andaman Sea.
Wind speeds in these areas are expected to range between 40 kmph and 50 kmph, with gusts occasionally reaching up to 60 kmph.
Fishermen and those engaged in marine activities have been advised to exercise caution in view of the adverse weather conditions.
The IMD reiterated that isolated heavy rainfall is likely on both June 17 and June 18.
While no higher-level alerts have been issued, officials continue to monitor the evolving weather situation and have urged the public to follow local advisories and safety instructions, particularly during thunderstorms and lightning activity.
Lightning poses a significant risk to human and animal life and can also damage electrical and communication infrastructure.
Residents have been advised to seek safe shelter during thunderstorms and avoid open areas when lightning is reported.
