Under IMD guidelines, a heavy rainfall warning denotes an expected accumulation of between 64.5 millimetres and 115.5 millimetres of rain within a 24-hour period. Residents, particularly those in hilly and coastal areas, are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions as the weather system develops.
