IMD forecasts heavy to very heavy rainfall in Kerala, issuing orange alerts for two districts and yellow alerts for five

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday placed multiple districts in Kerala under orange and yellow alert and warned of isolated heavy rainfall expected over the next five days.
Districts under orange alert
November 23 (Sunday): Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam
Districts under yellow alert
- November 23 (Sunday): Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam
- November 24 (Monday): Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam
- November 25 (Tuesday): Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam
- November 26 (Wednesday): Thiruvananthapuram
According to the IMD, an orange alert corresponds to rainfall between 115.6 mm and 204.4 mm, while a yellow alert indicates rainfall between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm.
