IMD warns of heavy rain and thunderstorms in northern Kerala on September 28.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather warnings for several districts in Kerala over the next few days. Isolated heavy showers are very likely today, 28 September (Sunday), particularly in northern districts including Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod.
The alert issued by the IMD indicates rainfall between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm in 24 hours (yellow alert) at one or two places in these districts. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions against localized flooding and waterlogging.
Weather outlook for Kerala (28 September – 3 October)
28 September: Rain or thundershower most likely at most places in Kerala.
29 September: Rain or thundershower expected at most places.
30 September – 3 October: Rain or thundershower expected at many places across the state.
Thunderstorms with lightning may occur at isolated locations in Kerala today. Strong surface winds of 30–40 kmph are also likely in some areas.
The IMD has emphasised that residents should stay updated with local forecasts and follow official advisories during the period of heavy rainfall.
