Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF), better known as Milma, has announced a significant price reduction on nearly 100 of its value-added dairy products, offering relief to consumers across the state.
The cuts come in the wake of the Union government’s recent revision of Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates and will take effect from Monday.

Ghee, a staple in Kerala households, sees the biggest drop. A one-litre pack of Milma ghee will now cost Rs 675, down from Rs 720, while the 500-ml pack has been reduced from Rs 370 to Rs 345, following a GST cut from 12% to 5%.
Other essentials are also cheaper: butter has been reduced from Rs 240 to Rs 225, and 500 gm of paneer will now cost Rs 234, down Rs 11, after GST on paneer was withdrawn entirely. Desserts such as vanilla ice cream will now cost Rs 196 per litre, down from Rs 220, reflecting a reduction in GST from 18% to 5%.
Flavoured milk, UHT milk, packaged juices, and payasam mixes are also set to become more affordable. Flavoured milk will now attract 5% GST instead of 12%, UHT milk is fully exempted, and payasam mix sees a reduction from 18% to 5%.
