IRCTC reduces Rail Neer bottled water price by ₹1, with revised rates effective September 22

New Delhi: The Railway Board has reduced the price of its packaged drinking water brand, "Rail Neer" by ₹1.
A circular issued by the board on Saturday and addressed to all zonal railways and the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) said, "Maximum retail price of packaged drinking water 'Rail Neer' shall be revised from ₹15 to ₹14 per bottle of one litre and ₹10 to ₹9 of per bottle of 500 ml capacity."
"Maximum retail price of IRCTC/Railways shortlisted packaged drinking water bottle of other brands sold in railway premises/trains shall also be revised from ₹15 to ₹14 per bottle of one litre and ₹10 to ₹9 per bottle of 500 ml capacity," it added.
The revised rates will come into effect from September 22. The move is aimed at ensuring that the benefit of tax relief is promptly extended to passengers.
Introduced in 2003, Rail Neer was developed by IRCTC to provide travellers with safe and affordable bottled drinking water. The product soon became a symbol of Indian Railways’ commitment to better passenger facilities.
The first Rail Neer manufacturing unit was set up in Nangloi, West Delhi, with the goal of serving premier trains such as the Rajdhani and Shatabdi, operating from New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin stations. Since then, the brand has expanded its reach across the country, becoming an integral part of railway services.
