Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Food Department has appointed a special squad to ensure the quality and safety of food products distributed during Onam season in the state.
As per reports, the squad will carry out inspections at the distribution centres of commodities, including edible oils, milk, pappad, jaggery, payasam mix, ghee, vegetables, fruits, fish, meat, among others. Inspections will also be conducted at hotels, bakeries, and check posts.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Veena George advised people to strictly adhere to the food safety guidelines issued by the food department.
