Pathanamthitta: Youth Congress leader Rahul Mamkootathil has stated that no one has asked him to resign. He added that since no other Youth Congress workers are in a position to speak on his behalf, he is stepping down on moral grounds. Rahul was speaking to the media at his residence in Adoor.

He argued that the chats and voice messages that have come out can easily be fabricated in today’s world.

Rahul also responded to the allegations raised by writer Honey Bhaskaran. “How does liking a status she posted while in Sri Lanka amount to flirting? If she has any complaints, let her pursue it legally. Have I committed any illegal act? V D Satheesan has never personally told me that anyone has lodged a complaint against me. Does anyone have a complaint against me? That is what should be taken into account. If she claims I tried to flirt by liking a post from Sri Lanka, let her bring forward any other evidence she has against me. Let her file a complaint. I will face it legally.”

“If someone responsible raises an allegation, I will respond. When I became Youth Congress president, there was an accusation that I used fake identity cards. Has anyone brought forward any evidence? Should I file complaints against those making accusations on social media? If anyone has a complaint against me, let them file a case. I will respond in court,” Rahul added.
