Kozhikode: A 16-year-old boy visiting the beach with his friends was sexually assaulted by a notorious contract goon and his associates. The gang attempted to drown other children on the beach when they challenged the attack. Town police later arrested the gang members.
The town police station Inspector Baiju K Jose identified the accused as Nainook (40), a resident of Panniyankara, and his accomplices as Nishad Ali (35), Sajar (35), and Jasim (35).

According to the town police, the assault occurred on Wednesday morning when Nainook targeted the boy playing on Kozhikode beach with his friends. When the other children tried to intervene, Nainook and Nishad Ali attempted to drown them in the sea.
During the subsequent arrest operation in Panniyankara, the accused individuals created a terrifying situation by tampering with gas cylinders. However, police officers subdued them by forcefully entering the premises. The assailants even vandalised a police vehicle. Sajar and Jasim were arrested for assaulting the police officers involved in the case, police said.
The students are enrolled in an educational institution in Kozhikode.
Police said they discovered Nainook had grown cannabis plants at his residence.
