Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala's technology sector is set for a major infrastructure boost with the launch of a ₹300-crore IT campus at Technopark Phase III, a project expected to create around 5,000 direct jobs and add more than 5 lakh square feet of premium office space to the state's growing digital economy.

The project, named YOO Hub Trivandrum, officially entered the construction phase on Monday after a ceremony attended by Industries, IT and AI Minister P. K. Kunhalikutty and senior officials from Kerala's technology ecosystem.

Positioned as India's first YOO-branded IT park, the development is being built by HiLITE Group in partnership with international design brand YOO and flexible workspace operator IWG. The project is also being described as the first technology-focused development globally to carry the YOO brand.

With demand for high-quality office infrastructure continuing to rise in Kerala's capital, the new campus is expected to strengthen Technopark's appeal among multinational companies, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), technology firms and innovation-driven enterprises looking to establish or expand operations in the state.

Speaking at the event, Kunhalikutty said the project represented another step in Kerala's efforts to position itself as a leading destination for technology, innovation and artificial intelligence-driven growth. He noted that the development would create thousands of employment opportunities while reinforcing the state's expanding IT ecosystem.

Technopark CEO Sandip Kumar said the addition of approximately 5.37 lakh square feet of Grade-A office space comes at a time when demand for premium technology workspaces remains strong. According to him, the project will help address the growing requirement for high-quality commercial infrastructure in the region.

HiLITE Group CEO Ajil Muhammed said Kerala possesses a strong talent base but requires more world-class office infrastructure capable of attracting multinational corporations and large technology employers. He said the company's objective is to bridge that gap by delivering globally competitive workspaces.

The upcoming campus will be spread across nearly 1.88 acres within Technopark Phase III and will feature a basement level, ground floor, two dedicated parking floors and 15 office floors. Once completed, the facility is expected to serve a wide range of occupants, including established IT companies, GCCs, research organisations and emerging digital businesses.

A key feature of the project is its focus on sustainability. The development has already secured LEED v4.1 BD+C Core and Shell Platinum pre-certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, one of the highest recognitions for environmentally sustainable building design.

"We're delighted to partner with HiLITE on YOO Hub Trivandrum, bringing YOO's design philosophy to Kerala's IT ecosystem, with IWG operating the business club at its heart. India's technology corridors deserve workplaces designed to the same standard as the world's best — and we're proud to see ground broken today on a development that puts people, design and the way they work at the centre of it" said John Hitchcox, Chairman, YOO.

“It’s been a privilege to bring YOO together with HiLITE and IWG on YOO Hub Trivandrum — a project that sets a new benchmark for branded workplaces in India.” Badal Saboo, YOO Associate.

The project is expected to further strengthen Thiruvananthapuram's position as one of India's emerging technology hubs while expanding the availability of large-scale office infrastructure within Technopark, the country's largest IT park ecosystem.
