Thiruvananthapuram: The government has decided to submit the complete Hema Committee report to the High Court and will not appeal the court’s order. The report, to be submitted by September 9 in a sealed envelope, is ready to be handed over. The government will provide details on the cases following the release of the report and actions taken so far. The legal team has been working with the Attorney General to finalise the report’s unreleased sections, transcripts, and annexure containing details of the accused.
The court has directed the government to submit the full version of the Hema Committee report in response to a public interest petition seeking an inquiry into the committee's findings. The court, which will hear the case on September 9, has also included the Women's Commission as party to the proceedings.

Initially, the government hesitated to present the report due to personal references involving major actors, which led to discussions about the possibility of filing an appeal.
The Information Commissioner had ordered the release of the report, with personal references removed. The government faced issues with a paragraph which was one among the portions that the commissioner had recommended to be omitted. This paragraph mentioned allegations of sexual abuse by high-ranking officials. It is alleged that the government intentionally concealed the following five pages to protect those influential figures named in the report. Consequently, the government has decided to let the court make the final determination on the matter.
