
Puthiyakavu: Four individuals, including Devaswom officials, were arrested in connection to the firecracker explosion at a storage unit in Tripunithura.
Hill Palace Police arrested Devaswom officials Satheesh Kumar and Shashi Kumar and contract workers Vineeth and Vinod.
Meanwhile, the police extended a search to find others accused in the case. Sajesh Kumar, the Puthiyakavu Devaswom president, is the prime accused. Apart from him, other accused are Devaswom secretary Rajesh, treasurer Sathyam, contractors Adarsh and identifiable persons. The accused faces charges under IPC 305, 308, 34, 427, and 337.
The FIR states that the defendants knowingly stored firecrackers and ammunition illegally despite being aware of the potential harm to human life and property damage.
