Thiruvananthapuram: Dr Asha Kishore will continue as the director of Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology.
The institute governing body has permitted her to continue in this post till 2025 February when she will retire.
The decision was taken evaluating her performance in the past 5 years and the achievements the institute has made under her.
37 projects were initiated for equipment development in medical science and new technology was developed for the creation of 18 equipment. One has been taken to the market while the institute is in talks with companies for 5 others.
Baba Atomic Research Centre and Sree Chitra Institute has signed an MoU for joint development of Deep Brain Stimulator.
For the past 5 years, 84 applications were submitted for Indian patents and 8 for foreign patents out of which 12 Indian patents and 2 US patents were obtained.
24 designs have also been registered.
