Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state leadership has decided to launch initiatives for “purifying” the party from corruption and abuse of power as it entered into a consecutive second term in power in Kerala. The party conducted a comprehensive discussion in the state committee meeting held in the last two days.

Opinions were raised in the meeting to remind the dereliction of the party in West Bengal following frequent victories in assembly elections. Hence, the Kerala state leadership of the party decided to quash such wrongdoings in the initial stage itself.

The party leadership has mulled to summon district committees to carry out the proposals. Detailed inspections will be carried out from branch committees to the district level and resort to severe actions against the offenders.

The party observed that those who have no value for Communist values are finding their way to the party through several organisations. Therefore, the party members have to remain vigilant over this, warned the party leadership.

Another challenge discussed at the meeting was the increasing drug menace in the society as well as party members.
