Thiruvananthapuram: The CPM has decided to face the local body and Assembly elections with a political face that earns people's trust. The guidelines prepared for this purpose have a core correction proposal for the government and the party.

The government is mainly advised to pay the welfare pensions every month without delay and clear the arrears by next year. Benefits to the grassroots should not stop, it was directed. Projects should be completed on time and people should not feel that the government activities are extravagant. Government work should be improved. Life Mission housing scheme should be expedited. Special attention should be given to employment generation, the guidelines added.

The erosion of votes at the grassroots level was attributed to the fact that the party members are not in touch with the people anymore. The situation is such that there is no one ready to work along with people.

Organisations in each sector should start agitations to expose the non allotment of Central assistance for various state government schemes. The guidelines also said that if there is a complaint about the activities of the lower level of the party, it should be immediately intervened and resolved. The state committee meeting will end on Monday.
