Thiruvananthapuram: A section of votes considered as sure votes of LDF were not polled in favour us, said CPM central committee member T M Thomas Isaac. In an interview given to Mathrubhumi News, the senior leader of CPM, who fought the election from Pathanamthitta lok sabha constituency, has said that the government should revise the priorities before them. “Changes should take place in the party also”, he said.
“A section of votes considered as sure votes were not polled. If we analyse the situation, we could see that there are so many reasons. Many people considered as LDF workers were deliberately abstained from voting or voted against the party”, he said.
“The first Pinarayi government had tried to provide whatever they could to the poor people. It was a government which had helped the people like no other governments before”, Isaac , who was a member of the cabinet during the first Pinarayi government said.
“A relook into the priorities should take place in connection with the functioning of this government. Chief Minister has said that, the pension would be given at any cost. If the government are to provide pension, they will have to ignore certain other things. A decision regarding this should be taken at the government level’, he said.
“Changes should take place in the party also based on the response of the people. I believe that the party would be ready to make corrections according to the situation”, Isaac said.
The programme, Chodyam Utharam, will be aired at 3.30 PM on Thursday.
