Kadalundi: In a tragic incident, a BTech student lost her life after being hit by a train while crossing the railway tracks.

The deceased has been identified as Surya Rajesh (21), daughter of Rajesh, hailing from Vallikkunnu in Malappuram.

The accident occurred on Saturday evening. Surya had alighted from a train arriving from Palakkad at Kadalundi Railway Station and was crossing the tracks when she was struck by the Chennai Express.

She was a BTech student at Sreepathy Institute of Management And Technology (SIMAT), Palakkad.

Her mother, N. Pratibha, is a teacher at CMH Higher Secondary School, Mannur, and her younger brother, Adithya Rajesh, is a Plus One student.
