Kozhikode: Muslim Youth League state general secretary P. K. Firoz alleged that Bineesh Kodieyeri, son of CPI (M) Kerala state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, has close connections with the drug smuggling gang that was arrested in Bengaluru last week.

Bineesh has close ties with Muhammad Anoop and Rijesh Ravindran, who were arrested along with D. Anikha, in connection with the drug smuggling case. This is clear in Muhammad Anoop’s statement given to the investigating officers, Firoz said while addressing a press conference.

Bineesh Kodiyeri had invested in Hayat hotel, which was opened by Anoop at Kammanahalli in Bengaluru in 2015. Bineesh had posted a live video on Facebook sharing greetings for another hotel Anoop opened in 2019.

During lockdown period, Bineesh had attended a night party in Kumarakom on June 19, along with the apprehended persons, Firoz alleged showing photographs.
