The Kozhikode police have arrested Ajnas, a Kallad resident, in connection with a sexual assault case involving the administration of chemical drugs to an 18-year-old in Kuttiyadi. Ajnas, owner of Beckham barbershop in Kuttiyadi, was apprehended by a police team led by Kuttiyadi CI Kailas Nath.

According to reports, Ajnas fled Kerala on the 24th of last month and was hiding in Ajmer. However, when the police reached Ajmer, he had already escaped. The police then disseminated information to all railway stations and eventually apprehended Ajnas when he disembarked at Mangaluru last night.

A case was registered against Ajnas under the POCSO Act after the 18-year-old victim filed a complaint stating that he was assaulted with MDMA. Subsequently, another individual came forward with a similar complaint against Ajnas, leading to additional POCSO sections being invoked in the case.
