Kozhikode: Anju, the sister of Arjun, who went missing in a landslide in Shiroor, Karnataka, has urged that the search for him continue without interruption.

Speaking to the media, Anju emphasized that the rescue mission should not be halted under any circumstances until Arjun and the other two missing individuals are found.

"We know about the weather conditions, but technology is available these days to handle it," she said.

Anju's husband has been keeping the family updated on the rescue efforts.

"Initially, there were reports that the lorry had been spotted, but no further information has been received since then. It's quite saddening. We're not blaming anyone, but it has been 13 days since Arjun went missing. My mother keeps asking what happened to her son. What should we tell her after these 13 days? We don't know anything about when he will return," Anju expressed.

Earlier, the Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan wrote to his counterpart in Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, requesting that his government continue the rescue operations to find Arjun.

In the letter, Vijayan said his government appreciates the efforts taken by the teams engaged in the search-and-rescue operations to find the missing person. There have been reports that search operations have been stopped, he said, adding, "I earnestly urge you to give directions to continue the rescue operations till they yield positive results."

CM Vijayan also requested that the operations be continued with augmented strength and using all needed equipment.

Following reports of the search possibly being temporarily halted, Kerala MLAs had criticised the decision. Minister Riyas stated that the search was stopped without consulting Kerala. In respons. It is after this, Satish Krishna Sail provided a direct explanation on the matter that the rescue operations will not be stopped.
