Kozhikode: The ambulance carrying the mortal remains of Arjun from Kannadikkal has arrived at Kannadikkal bazaar amid deeply emotional scenes. People have been gathering at his home since early morning to pay their final respects to the departed soul. It is expected that the ambulance will reach his house shortly.

As the motorcade passed along the road, many were seen waiting on the roadside for a final glimpse of the young man, who met an unfortunate fate in the landslide at Shirur, which swept his lorry into the depths of the Gangavali River. After 71 days of continuous searching and an agonizing wait, the lorry was finally retrieved from the river, with his mortal remains found inside the cabin.

Large crowds have gathered in Kannadikkal as the ambulance is anticipated to arrive shortly. The vehicle crossed the Kerala border around 2 a.m. on Saturday and reached the new bus stand in Kasaragod at approximately 2:30 a.m. Kasaragod district collector K. Inbasekar and district police chief D. Shilpa were present to pay their respects to Arjun at Kasaragod.

Karwar MLA Satheesh Krishna Sail and rescuer Ezhwar Malpe are also accompanying the mortal remains, alongside Arjun’s brother Abhijith and brother-in-law Jithin. Minister A.K. Saseendran received the mortal remains at Azhiyur, the border town of Kozhikode district.
