Rosly, who reportedly has a history of mental health issues, is currently in police custody

Kochi: Police have confirmed that the death of a six-month-old baby girl in Angamaly, who was found with a deep neck injury, was a case of murder. Investigators have also recovered the knife believed to have been used in the crime.
According to police, the baby’s grandmother, Rosly (60), allegedly killed the infant, Delna Mariyam Sara, by slitting her throat. Delna was the daughter of Antony and Ruth, residents of Karukutty Cheeni in Angamaly, Kerala.
Rosly, who reportedly has a history of mental health issues, is currently in police custody. Her formal arrest is expected to be recorded on Friday.
The baby was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries on her neck, but doctors were unable to save her life. Hospital authorities, suspicious about the nature of the wound, alerted the police. Following this, the Angamaly police registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation.
Statements from family members and other relatives were recorded during the inquiry, leading the investigation team to focus on Rosly. She was taken into custody for detailed questioning.
Police are also examining whether any additional motives were involved in the murder.
