The car involved in the tragic crash with a KSRTC bus in Alappuzha belonged to Shamil Khan, a car rental operator from Ambalapuzha. Shamil, who had given the car to the medical students from Vandanam Medical College, shared his regret after the fatal accident.
Shamil Khan said that he lent the vehicle to Muhammed Jabbar, one of the victims, and two other students. The car was not rented out but given to them as a favour after Jabbar’s brother, an engineering student in Thiruvananthapuram, requested. According to Shamil, Jabbar promised to return the car after returning from the cinema.

I’ve known these students for only 55 days, but we had a good relationship. His face is still in my mind.”
