107 grams of gold, meant for temple door plating, went missing from Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple`s strong room. Police investigation underway.

Thiruvananthapuram: Around 107 grams of gold have been found missing from the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple here on Saturday.
According to the complaint filed by police, around 13 sovereigns of gold kept at the temple for gold plating work are missing, and CCTV footage was being examined to find out who took it.
The missing gold was reportedly kept aside for the ongoing work to gold-plate the door of the sanctum sanctorum (Sreekovil). The gold was being stored in the temple's strong room.
It was only when the strong room was opened on Saturday to retrieve the gold for the next phase of the plating work that it was found missing.
Temple staff and police personnel are conducting a detailed inspection at the site. A case has been registered, and an official investigation is currently underway.
