The new affidavit, notarised on 3 April and filed on 4 April by a representative, includes two cases from Chennai and Madurai that were not mentioned in Vijay’s earlier filing

Chennai: Amid scrutiny ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections on 23 April, TVK chief Vijay has declared two previously unlisted FIRs in a fresh affidavit submitted to the returning officer.
The new affidavit, notarised on 3 April and filed on 4 April by a representative, includes two cases from Chennai and Madurai that were not mentioned in Vijay’s earlier filing, notarised on 30 March.
The first FIR, number 74 of 2026, was registered at K5 Peravallur Police Station in Chennai for alleged public disturbance during election campaigning on 30 March. Vijay stated in the affidavit that he became aware of the case only on 2 April through social media.
The second FIR, number 108 of 2025, is from Koodakovil Police Station in Madurai district. It relates to an incident during a party conference on 21 August 2025, where the complainant alleged being pushed and injured by bouncers while attempting to approach the leader during a ramp walk. Vijay noted that he has not yet received a formal summons regarding this matter.

While the criminal record section saw updates, Vijay’s financial declarations remained largely consistent. His movable assets are valued at approximately ₹410.59 crore, up from ₹404.58 crore previously, including silver articles worth ₹15 lakh and 883 grams of gold jewellery valued at over ₹1.20 crore.
His immovable properties, including commercial and residential buildings in Neelankarai and Saligramam, are estimated at ₹220.15 crore. Vijay declared a total income of ₹184.53 crore for the 2024-2025 financial year and listed pending income tax demands of around ₹3.44 crore across multiple assessment years, currently under appeal.
Vijay is contesting the elections from the Perambur and Tiruchirapalli East Assembly constituencies. He filed his first nomination for Perambur on 30 March, followed by Tiruchirapalli East on 2 April.

The supplementary affidavit filed in Perambur on 4 April was intended to reconcile discrepancies between his initial Perambur declaration and the later Tiruchirapalli East filing. The updated submission ensures compliance with Election Commission rules regarding the disclosure of all pending criminal proceedings.
