Actress Trisha is reportedly in talks to join Vijay’s TVK and may reportedly contest the by-election for the Tiruchirappalli East seat vacated by him.

Chennai: Reports suggest that actress Trisha Krishnan is likely to join Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). TVK leaders are reportedly keen on Trisha joining the party and contesting the upcoming by-election in the Tiruchirappalli East constituency.
In the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Vijay secured victories in both the Perambur constituency in Chennai and Tiruchirappalli East. According to the law, he cannot retain both seats and must reportedly resign from one within 14 days, which will necessitate a by-election.
Reports indicate that Vijay and his party members prefer to retain the Perambur seat, as his victory margin there was reportedly more than double and the constituency is conveniently located near the state secretariat. Consequently, Vijay is expected to resign from the Tiruchirappalli East seat.
Vijay and senior TVK leaders are reportedly attempting to persuade Trisha to contest from that specific seat. However, it is noted that Trisha reportedly has no prior political background and has not previously expressed an interest in entering politics.
