
New Delhi: The election of BJP state presidents, including Kerala, will be held before January 15. The decision regarding the national president will be taken by the end of this month as well. According to central leaders, the BJP's organisational election process to elect the national president, state presidents and national council office bearers is currently underway, according to central leaders.
Leaders have also been appointed by the party to oversee the selection of state presidents. Union Minister Prahlad Joshi has been given charge of Kerala. Union Minister George Kurian will oversee Meghalaya and former Union Minister V. Muraleedharan will handle Nagaland. In Lakshadweep, Pon Radhakrishnan will supervise the process.
The BJP has assigned various national office bearers and Union Ministers to oversee the selection of presidents across 29 states. The election of the state president in Bihar, where assembly elections are scheduled for mid-year, is considered crucial for the party.
The procedures are expected to be completed by the last week of January. J.P. Nadda, who has been serving as the national president since 2019, is currently the Union Health Minister in the third Modi government. As per the BJP constitution, a national president can serve only two consecutive terms.
