Ms Gandhi was admitted to the hospital on the night of 24 March 2026 presenting with a fever

Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi was discharged from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi on Tuesday morning, following treatment for a systemic infection. She will continue her recovery at home under medical supervision.
Ms Gandhi was admitted to the hospital on the night of 24 March 2026 at 10:22 PM, presenting with a fever.

According to Dr Ajay Swaroop, Chairman of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, she received antibiotics for a systemic infection under the supervision of Dr D. S. Rana, Dr S. Nundy, and Dr Arup Basu, and responded well to treatment.
Hospital authorities confirmed that Ms Gandhi has recovered sufficiently to leave hospital and will continue follow-up care at home.
