Representing the Jamui constituency, she won the Bihar Assembly elections in 2020 and 2025, defeating her rivals from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) with significant margins.

Shreyasi Singh, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, was sworn in as a minister in the Bihar Cabinet on November 20, 2025, under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Representing the Jamui constituency, she won the Bihar Assembly elections in 2020 and 2025, defeating her Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) rivals by substantial margins. She is also a member of the Women and Child Development Committee in the Bihar Vidhan Sabha, reflecting her focus on social welfare.

Early Life and Education:

Born on August 29, 1991, in Delhi, Singh comes from a prominent political family. Her father, Digvijay Singh, was a former Union Minister, and her mother, Putul Kumari, served as a Parliamentarian. Losing her father at 19 shaped her values and inspired her entry into public service. She holds a postgraduate degree and completed her MBA from Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies in 2018. Singh’s declared assets stand at ₹7.6 crore, with liabilities of ₹13.3 lakh, and an annual income of ₹94.2 lakh.

Shooting Career:

Before entering politics, Singh established herself as one of India’s top shooters. She won gold in the women’s double trap at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, silver at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, and bronze in the team event at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon. Her outstanding achievements earned her the prestigious Arjuna Award. She also represented India in shooting at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Singh joined the BJP in 2020 and swiftly made her mark in state politics. In her maiden election, she defeated RJD’s Vijay Prakash by 13,026 votes in 2020 and increased her winning margin to 54,498 votes in 2025, demonstrating growing popularity in Jamui.
