Mumbai: Veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha has sparked a storm on social media after sharing what many have criticised as an AI-generated image of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who is currently recovering from a recent attack. The image, posted on X (formerly Twitter), shows a wounded Saif lying on a hospital bed with an IV in his hand, while a glamorous Kareena Kapoor Khan sits beside him.
Sinha's post included a lengthy message expressing his concern for Saif’s recovery and gratitude to the Maharashtra government. In his tweet, he thanked Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde, and appreciated the police’s efforts in handling the situation. "Very sad & unfortunate the tragic attack on our near, dear & loved #SaifAliKhan which injured him severely. Thank God he is healing well to recovery. Profound regards to my all-time favourite 'show man' filmmaker #RajKapoor's granddaughter #KareenaKapoorKhan & the family.
He also called for an end to the "blame game" and urged everyone to let the police do their job, "One humble appeal please stop the 'blame game', police are doing their job well. We certainly appreciate our CM & HM, Maharashtra @Dev_Fadnavis for his concern & remedial measures. Let's not complicate the matter further. The matter will be solved soon, the sooner the better. Thanks to Depty CMs @AjitPawarSpeaks & our friend @mieknathshinde for their kind words, extreme care & efforts. After all, Saif is one of the most brilliant stars/actors & also both a Padmashri & National Award winner. Law will take its course as things are moving in the right direction. Get well soon."
However, it didn’t take long for social media users to point out that the image was not an actual photograph of Saif and Kareena but instead an AI-generated picture. Many expressed their surprise and confusion, with one user commenting, "So you learned something new today, how to generate an AI image in Grok." Others questioned the need for using such an image, with some even asking if the picture was old. A user wrote, "Sir, what's the need to use an AI-generated image of Saif and Kareena?", another comment read, "Was the AI-generated image really necessary?"
Saif was reportedly attacked with a 2.5-inch knife by an assailant who barged into his Bandra house through his youngest son, Jeh’s room.
As per media reports, doctors removed the 2.5 inches of knife from his wound. The actor, who underwent surgery, has now been shifted to the ICU and is said to be out of danger.
The actor was stabbed multiple times in an attempt to fight off a burglar during the wee hours of Thursday. The actor sustained six stab wounds, two of which are said to be serious as they are closer to his spine. The incident took place at 2:15 am when the burglar allegedly barged into their Bandra home, and attacked their house help and then Saif when he intervened.
