Patna: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Monday released its list of candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, confirming its presence in 143 assembly constituencies.

Party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav will once again contest from the Raghopur seat in Vaishali district, a stronghold for the party in previous elections.

This development comes just days after alliance talks within the Mahagathbandhan, comprising the RJD, Congress, and other regional partners, fell through for the first phase of the polls. The nomination deadline for phase one ended last Friday without a consensus, prompting parties to go their separate ways.

Adding to the shifting political dynamics, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) had earlier announced its decision to contest the Bihar elections independently, opting out of any coalition arrangements.

The Bihar Assembly elections will be held in two phases, on November 6 and November 11, covering all 243 seats. The results will be declared on November 14, setting the stage for another crucial battle in one of India’s most politically vibrant states.
