Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched a sharp attack over the alleged irregularities in the Central Board of Secondary Education examination (CBSE) results, claiming that lakhs of students and parents had been left distressed due to what he described as a serious manipulation of the evaluation process.

In a post on Instagram, Rahul Gandhi alleged that there had been ‘massive irregularities’ in the handling of CBSE exam results and questioned the role of authorities in awarding contracts related to the examination process.

The Congress MP also raised questions over the selection of COEMPT, the company linked to examination-related services, alleging that it had previously faced controversy under its earlier identity, Globarena.

Gandhi claimed that despite concerns over the company’s record, it was still entrusted with responsibilities involving a large number of students. Publicly available company records indicate that COEMPT had previously operated under the Globarena name.

In his post, Gandhi demanded answers on how the contract was awarded, whether established procedures were followed, and whether adequate background checks had been carried out before assigning responsibilities linked to examination processes.

He also sought an independent judicial probe and the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the matter and identify those responsible if any wrongdoing is found.

Addressing students directly, Gandhi said their hard work and future should be protected and assured them that the matter would continue to be raised.

Neither CBSE nor the government had immediately responded to the allegations at the time of writing. The claims made by Gandhi have not been independently verified.
