For the 2026 examination cycle, CBSE published the tentative schedule on September 24, 2025, before releasing the final datesheet on October 30, 2025.

With many students, parents and schools searching online for the CBSE 2027 board exam dates, attention is now focused on the tentative datesheet for Class 10 and Class 12. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the schedule shortly on its official website, cbse.gov.in.
The board has not announced a specific date for the release. However, previous examination schedules suggest that the 2027 Class 10 and Class 12 board exams are likely to begin in February 2027.
How previous release trends compare
Over recent years, the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 examination datesheet announcement date has varied between September and December. For the 2026 cycle, a tentative schedule was published on 24 September 2025, followed by the final datesheet on 30 October 2025. Class 10 exams for that session ran from 17 February to 10 March 2026, while Class 12 exams took place between 17 February and 9 April 2026. In comparison, the datesheet for 2025 was issued on 20 November 2024, whereas the 2024 schedule arrived on 12 December 2023. Going further back, the 2023 timetable was released on 29 December 2022, and the two-term 2022 exams had schedules announced in late 2021 and March 2022.
Why an early schedule matters to everyone
An advance datesheet helps Class 10 and Class 12 students prepare structured revision plans and manage study gaps between individual papers. The preliminary schedule is expected to outline timelines for main exams, Class 10 second board exams, supplementary tests, and sports candidates. The datesheet also enables schools to align academic calendars and assign teachers for examination and evaluation duties. Approximately 45 lakh candidates across 204 subjects were expected in the previous cycle, highlighting the scale of these exams. Candidates are advised to rely strictly on cbse.gov.in for official announcements and avoid unverified social media updates.
