New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has begun the post-result process for students who appeared for the Class 10 Main Board and Second Board Examinations 2026, allowing them to apply for scanned copies of their evaluated answer books before seeking verification of marks or re-evaluation.

In a notification issued on 5 August, the board said the post-result process will be carried out in three stages. Students must first obtain a scanned copy of their evaluated answer book before they are eligible to apply for verification of marks or request re-evaluation of specific answers.

The Class 10 Main Board examination results were declared on 15 April, while the Second Board examination results were announced on 18 July.

Applications for scanned answer books

  • Students can apply online for scanned copies of their evaluated answer books from 5 August to 9 August by paying Rs 300 per subject.
  • CBSE has advised students to carefully review the scanned copies before deciding whether to seek verification of marks or re-evaluation.
  • Applications for verification of marks, re-evaluation, or both will be accepted from 16 August to 19 August.
  • The fee for verification of marks is Rs 300 per answer book, while re-evaluation costs Rs 100 per question, including all its sub-parts. Students opting for both services will be required to pay the prescribed fee for each process.

  • What happens during verification?

According to CBSE, the verification process checks whether:

  • Any answer has been left unevaluated.

  • There has been an error in the total of marks awarded.

  • Marks have been incorrectly transferred to the final score.

If students remain dissatisfied after the verification process, they can apply for re-evaluation of selected questions. The board clarified that only the questions identified by the candidate will be re-examined.

Following re-evaluation, the revised marks—whether they increase, decrease or remain unchanged—will be treated as final.

CBSE has also reminded students that all applications must be submitted online within the specified deadlines, as offline requests will not be entertained.
