AAP’s relentless public attack on Raghav Chadha has taken a curious turn, with the BJP stepping in to defend him, triggering speculation of a possible political shift.

Raghav Chadha’s political trajectory has suddenly become the subject of intense speculation, as a bitter public fallout within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) collides with an unexpected show of support from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
What was once an internal disagreement is now unfolding in full public view. The optics are striking.

Over the past few days, AAP leaders have launched a coordinated and unusually sharp attack on Chadha, accusing him of straying from the party line.
From questioning his silence on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to mocking the issues he raised in Parliament, the criticism has been both direct and personal.
At the same time, BJP leaders have taken a very different stance. Instead of criticising Chadha, they have praised his interventions and questioned why he is being restricted. The contrast has triggered a wave of political chatter.
AAP turns up the heat on its own leader
Chadha’s removal as AAP’s deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha appears to have triggered more than just a reshuffle.
Senior leaders have since publicly accused him of failing to take on the Centre, skipping key protests, and focusing on what they describe as soft issues.
From Saurabh Bharadwaj’s pointed remarks questioning his courage to Atishi’s direct attacks over his absence during crucial moments, the messaging has been consistent. Chadha is no longer aligned with the party’s political priorities.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s remark calling him compromised further escalated the situation, signalling that the rift is both serious and deep.
Chadha, however, has chosen to counter the narrative. In a video statement, he claimed that he was being prevented from speaking in Parliament despite raising issues that directly affect citizens, insisting he has been silenced, not defeated.
His decision to drop AAP from his social media bio has only intensified speculation about his next move.
BJP’s backing adds a political twist
Amid this escalating war of words, the BJP’s response has added a new layer of intrigue. Several BJP leaders have defended Chadha, praising his parliamentary performance and questioning AAP’s move to curb his voice.
Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva accused Arvind Kejriwal of sidelining capable leaders, while others framed the situation as an attack on democratic functioning. This unexpected endorsement has sharply altered the narrative.
At a time when AAP is publicly discrediting Chadha, BJP’s defence positions him as a leader being unfairly targeted. The shift has not gone unnoticed.
Is this merely political opportunism, or does it hint at something more?
There is no official indication of any move yet. However, in politics, signals often emerge before decisions are made, and right now, the signals around Raghav Chadha are hard to ignore.
