Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored India’s vast potential as a destination for live concerts, referencing the success of Coldplay’s recent performances in Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

Speaking at the 'Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025' in Bhubaneswar, Modi said, "You must have seen fabulous pictures of the Coldplay concert organised in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. It shows that India has a massive scope for live concerts. Big artists from around the world are attracted towards India... I expect the state and the private sector to focus on needed infrastructure and skills."

Coldplay, led by Chris Martin, performed as part of their Music of the Spheres tour, captivating audiences with concerts in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Their final show, held on Republic Day at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, featured patriotic renditions of Vande Mataram and Maa Tujhhe Salaam, earning rapturous applause from the crowd.

In a heartfelt conclusion, Chris Martin extended Republic Day wishes and declared, "Salute to Mother India." The band also paid a playful tribute to Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah, dedicating a song to his prowess on the field during the concert.

The prime minister’s comments come amid growing interest from global artists in India as a hub for live entertainment. He emphasised the importance of enhancing infrastructure and developing local talent to further tap into this growing opportunity.

PM Modi inaugurated the 'Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025' at Janata Maidan in the presence of dignitaries including Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati. The two-day event, attended by 7,500 delegates, serves as a platform for discussions on Odisha's investment potential and showcases its industrial achievements.

The event featured notable industrialists such as Anil Agarwal of Vedanta Group, Kumar Mangalam Birla of Aditya Birla Group, and Naveen Jindal of Jindal Steel and Power, alongside Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Ashwini Vaishnaw.
