New Delhi: In his Mann Ki Baat address on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed the lives of 26 civilians. Modi expressed profound sorrow for the victims and their families, stating, "Every Indian is seething with anger at this senseless violence."

The attack, attributed to the Pakistan-based terror group The Resistance Front (TRF), has worsened already strained relations between India and Pakistan. Both countries have traded accusations over supporting terrorism. Modi condemned the attack, framing it as part of a larger conspiracy to destabilise Kashmir. He said, "The terrorists and their patrons want Kashmir to be destroyed again, which is why such a big conspiracy was hatched."

Calling for national unity in the face of this violence, Modi emphasised the importance of collective strength. "In this war against terrorism, the unity of the country and the solidarity of 140 crore Indians is our biggest strength," he stated, reiterating that India's resolve to combat terrorism would remain unshaken.

The Pahalgam attack has sparked widespread outrage across the country, with citizens expressing frustration over the persistent violence in Kashmir. Modi’s comments came amid heightened concerns about security in the region and growing tensions with Pakistan. Both nations have exchanged blame for the attack, with Pakistan denying any involvement.

As investigations continue, attention has turned to strengthening India’s security measures and diplomatic efforts to tackle terrorism in Kashmir and beyond. Modi's call for unity stands central to his approach, as the nation grapples with the ongoing challenges of confronting terrorism in the region.
