New Delhi: In his 116th episode of the monthly radio broadcast "Mann Ki Baat," Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that Swami Vivekananda’s 162nd Jayanti on January 12 will be celebrated in a special manner. The highlight of the celebrations will be the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders' Dialogue, a unique initiative aimed at involving youth with no political background in the country's political landscape.

The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders' Dialogue will be held on January 11-12 at the Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. Modi stated that the initiative aligns with his vision to connect the youth, especially those from non-political families, with politics.

“From the ramparts of Red Fort, I appealed to youth whose families have no political background to join politics. To connect one lakh such youth with politics, many special campaigns will be run across the country. The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders' Dialogue is one such initiative," he said.

PM Modi reflects on his NCC experience

During the broadcast, the Prime Minister also praised the National Cadet Corps (NCC), recalling how it played an important role in shaping his own youth. Modi, who was an NCC cadet, shared, "The experience I gained from being in the NCC was invaluable. It instills discipline, leadership, and a spirit of service in the youth."

He urged young Indians to embrace the values fostered by the NCC to build a stronger and more disciplined nation.

Celebrating inspiring Indian diaspora stories

PM Modi also urged citizens to celebrate the remarkable stories of the Indian diaspora. He encouraged people to share these stories, which highlight their contributions to global success, freedom struggles, and the preservation of India’s heritage.

“Share such stories on the NaMo App or MyGov using the hashtag 'Indian Diaspora Stories',” he said.

Youth's compassion in helping senior citizens

The Prime Minister commended the "Yuva Shakti" for their role in helping senior citizens. He shared the inspiring example of a young person from Lucknow who assisted elderly individuals in submitting their digital life certificates.

Modi also highlighted the efforts of a youth from Ahmedabad, who is working to raise awareness about cybercrimes and educate the elderly about digital safety.
