The Government of India has refuted viral claims that Pakistan destroyed an Indian Brigade Headquarters in retaliation for the recent Operation Sindoor, confirming the information is entirely false.

New Delhi: The Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check unit has officially debunked claims circulating on social media suggesting that Pakistan destroyed an Indian Brigade Headquarters in response to Operation Sindoor—a major cross-border strike carried out by India against terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
In a statement, PIB clarified, “Social media posts falsely claimed that Pakistan destroyed Indian Brigade Headquarters. This claim is #FAKE. Please avoid sharing unverified information and rely only on official sources from the Government of India for accurate information.”
The clarification came shortly after Indian Armed Forces conducted what is being described as their deepest operation inside Pakistan’s undisputed territory since the 1971 war. Operation Sindoor was launched in the early hours of Wednesday to eliminate terrorist leaders from Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) responsible for recent attacks, including the one in Pahalgam.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the strikes were “focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature,” targeting nine terror hubs—four in Pakistan (including Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Sialkot) and five in PoJK. No Pakistani military installations were attacked, reinforcing India’s stated intention of targeting only terror infrastructure.
The operation involved coordinated action by the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy, utilising special precision-guided munitions. Sources confirmed that mobilisation of assets and troops preceded the strikes, marking a significant strategic development in India’s counterterrorism posture.
The Ministry of Defence is scheduled to hold a detailed press briefing on Wednesday at 10:00 AM to provide further information on the outcomes and implications of Operation Sindoor.
